My partner and I stayed at Robbert and Germaine's apartment for my birthday. The hosts were friendly and helpful and provided us with lots of information and maps etc. The apartment is located in the beautiful area of De Pijp with a canal just steps away from the main entrance. We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere cosy and relaxed after a busy day in the city.
Really enjoyed the stay in the beautiful apartment. The location was perfect for us: in a local area without tourist groups, still it was easy to get to the places (we used trams... and also walked a lot, not very long distances anywhere we wanted to go).
The hostess did welcome warmly: we received enough information beforehand to feel comfortable to get easily to the apartment. And when arriving, received good infopack about the neighbourhood and the apartment itself.
Positive feedback also for the extra bed that was made for us when arriving - friends would prefare own beds instead of the double bed, which sure would be good for a couple ;-)
When travelling back to Dam, would be checking if it would be available at Robbert & Germaine's.
The situation is very good, near the Pijp and facing the canal. The apartment is nice and very confortable.- Everything perfect.
Authentic de pijp experience. Robbert (I did not have the pleasure to meet with Germaine) is a very attentive host who even agreed to bring the keys to my office so I could check in flexibly. In the apartment some wine ,water, beer and nuts were waiting, which was highly appreciated. For the apartment itself: if you want to experience the 'Amsterdam de Pijp' feeling, this apartment is the right place. Very steep stairs, a cozy gas heater (that unfortunately could not be turned off, so with the nice spring weather it was too warm in the apartment), interesting arrangements with a light in the wc with which the light in the staircase outside the apartment was turned on and off, tiny but cute balcony, kitchen with old gas heater for water, very small bedroom, old closet, etc. If you are looking for modern luxury this simple but functional apartment is not the place for you. The direct neighbourhood is also not the best to walk through alone at night, a bit trashy with red light houses in the same street. Given the price of the apartment (of way over € 100-150), I personally had expected more luxury compared to other apartments that I stayed in.
Had a wonderful stay in Amsterdam. Robbert and Germaine were very welcoming. Nice and clean appartment and at a wonderful location. Great to live in a dutch house next to a canal with real house- boats.Close to a great outdoor market, museums and the consert house.
We walked, walked and then walked some more. Are you a bicycle afficiendo this is a great way to get around. The art- exhibits are truly wonderful. Fantastic cable- cars, metro, tarins etc. Easy to get to and from Schipol.
Sincerely yours Gudrun
We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment, it was well located in an interesting area. The sitting room was light and spacious with a good view and we liked the fire. Robbert and Germaine were thoughtful hosts and accommodating even though our flight was delayed. We recommend the bakery round the corner 'De Bakkerswinkel'.
