We had a great time staying with Roxanne in New York. Roxanne was very friendly and helpful. The room was really nice and clean and the bed was really comfortable.
Everything was just so good. Roxanne is a perfect Host, espescially if you visit NYC for the first time. She had Bus- and Subway-Maps for us and gave us lots of useful Information about the City. Shes a very nice person and the Appartement was very clean and beautyful. The Bus and Central Park is just 1min away, the Subway about 3-4 min. If we will go to NYC another time, we will go to Roxanne again for sure.
Much Love from Germany

Roxanne has a lovely flat with nice rooms. We felt us very comfortable any time and her suggestions were very useful. The location of the flat is very close to the next subway lines and it tooks about 10 minutes to arrive the center of manhattan. Thanks Roxanne we had 5 amazing days in new york! Cheers Denis & Janine
Roxane is a very friendly and warm host.
She gave me a lot information about Nyc.
The flat is very well located, just few blocks from the red and green subway line. It's also close to Central park.
In the flat you can find everything you need, like flatiron, hairdryer etc.... you can also join at the gym upstair, for free and use washing machine and clothes dryer for a Dollar. In the flat, there will be other guests, and if you need more privacy, ask for a closed room, because there is also a room with sliding door, where i stayed and there is not much privacy. Anyway the room was very clean and confortable, maybe a bigger bed could be perfect.
Therefore, i think that all the guests you may find in the flat , they will be good because Roxane pay very attention to bring only goog people in the flat. She really take care about the well-being of her guests.
Nearby the building, you can always find Everything you need even in the night.
The area around is clean and safe, even in the night, i didn't noticed strange or dangerous situations.
The stay at Roxanne's house has been a real pleasure. Not only I discovered a beautiful place that I never saw before in NYC (Lenox Avenue), but I also learned a lot of things thanks to Roxanne that shared with me a lot of its time telling fantastic stories about her travels and its love for contemporary arts. She also introduced me to new great artists like Kehinde Wiley.
The place, a recently renewed old building, is well located, quiet and well connected with everything in Manhattan. You can reach it with subway lines 2 or 3, getting off at 116th str.
we overbooked our stay to 4 days instead of 2. we informed her over15 days in advance so that we can be refunded or some how settled. she totally disagrees to pay us anything. we asked her to re book us on other days if she cant refund. she disagrees again with a rude tone. we shut up and decide to live with it as we wanted to avoid an unpleasant stay. the irony of our story is that we did not speak a word about it when we reached her home and tried to be fine as it was our mistake but it was hopeless.
She has house rules to follow and we did. one of it is not using the kitchen after 9.00 pm to 8.00 am. I went to fetch a cup of hot water for a dipped tea and she took the pains to come to the kitchen to let me know i cant use it. when i told her its just hot water, she insisted that even that was against the house rules.....super strange. after paying her for 4 nights and staying for 2... this is really not right. we did not use the kitchen at all except for water. I would suggest you pay a bit more and stay in a hotel in times square or rather than live in this house where you will be made clear that you are in someone else's space.
other than this:
1) the pics are good but the true condition of the house is old. out door handle was broken and was fixed with clear tape.
2) super noisy 24*7 due to constant traffic and people on the road. even times square was comparatively quiet
3) i was a bit concern about my safety due to the neighborhood. it may be safe but i didnt feel it to be.
