You feel the river in your hands, the comfort inside and beauty around... Simple in one of the best areas of Lisbon
The strategical location of this apartment, right by the Lisbon´s Cathedral, will make you enjoy the city in a few steps, as you find everything you need at door. The apartment is located in a newly refurbished and very beautifull building facing the Sé cathedral church, on the way up to the Castelo de S. Jorge hill and Alfama. At a few minutes walking distance you find the Castelo de S. Jorge, the cafeterias and terraces of Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol, Alfama, the Sé Church, the famous Praça do Comércio square and very good transport connections, including the tram 28 and underground. An ideal location.
Nearby you have various forms of traditional Portuguese commerce, and from there you can easily reach most of the popular sightseeing spots in Lisbon.
It is also a short walking distance to the subway (Rossio station), to the train station (Cais do Sodré) going to the beaches around Cascais and the station where the trains to Sintra leaves.
Less than 5 minutes from home you will find all means of transportation you need from the tram No. 15 that will take you to Belém.
There is also some public car park within a 5/8 minutes walk of the apartment.
This location has easy access to Baixa, Bairro Alto, Chiado, the Castle (S. Jorge) district and also to Alfama and to Santa Clara, where Lisbon’s flee-market takes place.
It is also close to some of the stops of the famous tram 28 (Electrico 28). This is a scenic route crossing most of the tourist neighbourhoods of the city centre. A definite must for any visitor to Lisbon.
After the great earthquake of 1755, when the center of Lisbon was destroyed, a new center was constructed, made of grid pattern “geometrical” streets. This area, situated between Praça do Comércio, Rossio and Praça da Figueira is called Baixa.
From Baixa you can easily access The nigh life district Bairro Alto and the smart Chiado, with all his theatres, museums, elegant and traditional shops, bars and restaurants.
To the other direction, going up street, you will accede Graça and Santa Clara the place where Feira da Ladra (Thief’s market ), the flea market, happens every Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Here there are several “musts” not to miss on your visit:
Panteão Nacional – Church of Santa Engrácia: When the construction began in 1682, it was planned as one of the Lisbon’s biggest churches. However, it had been long neglected and the construction was completed only in 1966! It was then that the Panteão Nacional was inaugurated. Here you will find cenotaphs of Portugal’s heroes. The interior is colossal and contains the tombs of historic and literary figures – from Vasco da Gama to Amália Rodrigues, the famous fado singer.
The convent of São Vicente de Fora: Portugal’s first king, Afonso Henriques laid the foundations of this church in order to fulfil a vow to construct Christian Houses of worship where Portuguese and European crusaders would lay to rest. Inaugurated in 1629, the church was severely damaged by the 1755 earthquake. It has been recently renovated and deserves a visit. The view from the rooftop is one of the greatest in Lisbon.
Some “Miradouros” (vantage points) with amazing views over the castle S. Jorge, the river Tejo and the city roofs: miradouro da Graça with an open-air café and Senhora do Monte 600m further on. The views are even more spectacular at sunset. Don’t miss it!

This is a very beautiful and very clean Appartment in the middle of the nightlife in Lisboa!
Also the house keeper and all comunication is very fast and friendly!
Next time we get to Lisboa we like to get back here!
What a great apartment! The view is amazing! The location perfectly suited in the old part of Lisbon. You can walk in a few minutes into the city centre. The flat was very clean! We really enjoyed our stay here and I wish I could have taken the comfortable bed with me. The bed is more than big enough for two persons. Apartment is equiped with everything you need. (Towels, kitchen equipment,..) Absolutely recommendable.
Everything was fine !!!
Very nice and comfortable Appartement. It is near the "nightlife" of lisbon, the Bairro Alto, with lots of bars and places. Very friendly and helpful owners. We (group of 6) enjoyed our trip to lisbon.
We had a great time in a very nice, clean and renovated apartment in a lively neighborhood. Everything we needed was in the apartment and we had good communication with Margarida. The only minor thing: the noise of the street at night. So if you are not used to that, make sure to have some earplugs with you.
Great, beautiful and clean apartment in perfect location, super nice and helpful host - recommended us where to go, what to do and where to eat - we took the advice and were 100% happy with that!!! We totally recomment that apartment :)
Great stay with a very accommodating host. We had a great time in the heart of Lisbon. Lots of action in the neighborhood. Loads of restaurants, cafes and interesting points of interest. Highly recommended.
Nice and very clean apartment and kitchen! Friendly welcome with information about the city from representative. Specious bathroom with a nice bath/shower. The location is wonderfull with lots of historic interesting points, places to eat and nice small shops. Also public transport is nearby. One point for improvement is the small double bed that is only 180 cm long. The beds in the other room are very good!
The Apartment was perfect everything you need was there ...
The only Problem was that The cooker didnt work
The Host Are also very nice and helpful
The area is next To a Bus and a train and you can even Walk everything is nearby
I would definitly recommend it
Nice flat, calm but central: perfect for us!
We felt very comfortable and the costs for the flat are in a good balance to what you get. We liked the view out of the window. The space seams a little bit bigger on the pictures, but it was space enough for us three. It was clean and we had all we needed! The area around is calm but central: The next Metro Station "Intendente" is near, the 28E tram to "Alfama" comes along that way and the train to the beach starts at the end of the green line (Metro).
The landlord organized a taxi for us in the early morning which was very helpful, because the taxi driver in Lisboa often don't speak English.
If the shower would be refurbish, we would recommend the flat to all our friends.
Thanks for all. We had a very good time in Lisboa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
