Franck and his wife Sandrine were very friendly. They help us in all the problems we had and try to do our stay in Paris more comfortable.
I recommend to stay in their cosy house which is full equipped and in a lovely and peaceful area. If we go to Paris again we will repeat without any doubt.
We had a wonderful time with Frank and his Family. The House is close to Disney and a Factory Outlet. If you go to Paris City, then use the Train which is also close by. Frank gave us a few Tips, where to eat and what to Visit. To bad it rained most of the time, so we could not enjoy is nice Garden. Hopefully we can get back another Time.
Frank was an amazing host.. Windu is lucky to have people like him hosting.
I think we made a lifelong friendship with franks family and would recommend him anytime to future travellers to Paris and Disney
We spent a few days with Franck and his family (6 of us), and certainly spent the most magic, human and restful stay we’ve ever had (and we are very active travellers).
We red the comment of the previous guest (jane) before arriving, and were very concerned about our time there.
I can now say that either this person has not stayed at the same place and with the same people, or doesn’t know how to read because everything is mentioned on the listing, or she’s been making a very bad joke to Franck with her comment.
(Franck has not influenced me in writing this review).
We arrived late after a very long journey, and were warmly welcomed by our hosts with drinks.
The house is beautiful, large and decorated with taste.
The 2 bedrooms we had were just amazingly comfortable, and well equipped.
Franck and her wife even left us some space in the wardrobe and bathroom cupboard to store our clothes and items.
The comfort and equipment are worth a five star hotel!!!
Franck is actually working in the hospitality industry as a senior executive manager, and you can feel that he’s doing it with pleasure and passion.
We had very restful nights.
In the morning they prepared us a very tasty French Breakfast, with fresh croissants and pains au chocolat, crunchy baguette, homemade jam, etc…
We then met their 2 young children who played with ours.
Regarding the dog and cat, our children just loved playing with them.
They are extremely child friendly!!
Franck and his Wife gave us useful advice in terms of visits (Paris, DisneyLand, Shopping, etc...).
They also offered us to come with us to DisneyLand to help us at the entrance and to avoid paying the car park (because they have unlimited pass!!!!).
This was extremely kind of them.
We had a key of the house and the alarm code, to come back whenever we wanted.
We decided to have dinner at home, and were never charged any extra for it.
Franck and his Wife only want to make sure the kitchen is spotless after use.
Of course, food and drinks are not allowed in the bedrooms.
The entire house is extremely clean and I can easily understand it.
Who wouldn’t???.... Jane, maybe….
During our stay, we even shared a wonderful dinner with our host and had a great time in their garden around a barbecue, wine, candles, and board games…
We needed to wash our clothes, and we asked Franck to use the washing machine.
He asks 7 euros for it, but you would never find someone who looks after your clothes so well (washing, hanging up, and folding it).
I wanted to give him more, but he refused.
We were so sad to leave them after this great time.
We arrived and met hearty hosts.
When we went back home, we left genuine Friends.
As you can imagine, we recommend them with no hesitation.
Franck and his Family are the most welcoming persons you could stay with.
Great location for a visit to Paris City Center, DisneyLand and the area.
My children, my parents and my husband and I were going to Paris to watch my brother in law run the marathon, and as a special treat we wanted to take the children to Disneyland Paris. We were looking for self catering accommodation and when we saw Franck's property we thought it looked perfect for our needs. My children are 7 and 4 so sharing a room altogether is fine. My parents are very easy going and staying with a French family seemed a good idea.
The description showed and listed a beautiful house with all the amenities that you'd need, kitchen, washing machine, garden, lovely living area.
What it didn't list was the cat and dog. My son has allergies to cats, so we would never have chosen to stay here if we'd known. However, once we were there, there was little we could do. The cat actually bit my husband when he tried to get it out of the bedroom!
Franck also never mentioned that he had a family. In his photo it is just him, in reality, he has a wife and son of 5 and 22month old daughter. I am not sure how many people have ever stayed with him, as the daughter cried for the first 2 nights, from 230am until 5am, and when I said this was a problem he told me it was because people were going to the toilet at night and waking her. Having 2 children myself I don't believe a word of this, and also this made all of my family even more uncomfortable.
The master bedroom was great, the bed huge and the 2 put-up beds adequate. There was also a large bathroom. All the wardrobes and cupboards were locked shut so there was nowhere to put anything, but other than that it was OK. My parents were in the 5 year old boys room. This was a childs single bed with a pull out mattress to make it into a double bed. It was uncomfortable and again there was nowhere to put anything. They also had to share the bathroom with use, therefore walk across the landing and through our bedroom to get to the bathroom. This wasn't mentioned on the description. It states there are 2 bathrooms.
We had no issues booking with Franck and he even sent some helpful information, so we were really looking forward to our stay, and obviously I had paid in October when we booked. When I conformed we could use the washing machine, I was now told that there was a 7 euro charge per load, and if I wanted to use the kitchen there was a 15 euro charge. This was disappointing as we thought that the facilities listed would be included in the price. Also upon arrival, we were not given a key, so we were not able to come and go as we pleased, we had to give check in and out times daily. Again, not what we wanted.
After the 2nd night, the little girl slept better, but the family were all up by 7am as they had work and school commitments and the house is not soundproof, so this was not a very restful break as we were all woken early every morning. In fact we were delighted that we had only booked for 5 nights, and were counting down the days until we could come home.
As far as being welcomed into the family home, we weren't. In the 5 days we were there, I never sat on the sofa, and neither did any of the adults in the group. In the evenings, Franck and his wife laid on the sofa and we sat at the dining table - not having drinks, as the kettle and cooker were locked shut so we could not use them. We were able to bring wine in, but that was only permissible to drink at the table or outside. If you did take food or drink outside, then you had the dog begging or chasing you for some of it. Again, not really relaxing or ideal.
Franck speaks excellent English, so can help with planning trips, but I think that when you book accommodation it is fundamental to have a good night sleep and wake up when you want to. Make tea and coffee as you please and be able to wash your children's clothes. I often have students rent my room and they always are given a key and told how to use the facilities. They are also always welcome to sit with us in the evening.
As we are polite British people, it seemed churlish to complain to Franck whist we were there. I made my feelings clear about the lack of sleep and as aforementioned, he blamed my family. At this point, I wrote an email to Wimdu. That was on the Saturday of our stay. They finally replied on Thursday when we were already home saying that we should have let them know within 24 hours of arrival, and there was nothing they could do now.
I feel terribly disappointed, and therefore will never use Wimdu again, and I would suggest that if you are going to Paris - only stay here if you just want a room and will be up early, not use the toilet in the night, and eat out. That way it will be perfect for you. Don't take your family as there isn't enough room in this house for 2 families.
VIELEN DANK FRANCK.
