Description de l'hébergement
The flat is 200 meters from New Cross Gate Station, which gives you access to the Overground and the mainline railway (Note: the Overground is connected to the tube/underground - it just runs over ground - all tickets are valid). There are also numerous buses, which pass the flat and go straight to central London, including several night buses, so you can always get home no matter what time of night!
You can be in Trafalgar Square (by train) in just 15 minutes. The vibrant and eclectic area of Shoreditch is also just 15 minutes on the Overground. The location is ideal for any tourist or person working in central London!
So far all the guests in the flat have been very nice, interesting and very respectful of one another. I believe that they have all enjoyed their stay. The apartment is maintained daily to a high standard.
In the local area you will find everything you need for a great stay; there are 24 hour food shops, cafes, restaurants, a big supermarket (Sainsbury’s) and bars all within walking distance to the flat. The flat is very close to Goldsmith University campus, so could be an ideal base if you are visiting the university for a conference.
The apartment is really convenient if you are visiting the Olympic games this summer. It is just 20 minutes by bus to Greenwich were a number of events are taking place, and just 20 minutes to the stadium at Stratford, via the Overground and Jubilee Line.

Avis sur les autres logements de cet hôte
Great for the price! Sidney seems to have many properties and was consistently the cheapest on wimdu! The communication and instructions were great. We were able to arrive late at night and used key codes to access the apartment, which was reassuring as waiting around for someone to show up is no fun. The apartment was simple yet clean and warm. The connection to the city was efficient and quick. If you are on a budget, this is your place!
After the last review we became a little anxious that the place was not going to be as we’d expected. However, we did have a really good time and thought that the flat was great. The bed was comfortable and seemed new (maybe the owner had replaced it since the last person’s complaint). The flat is located on a really nice street, which backs on to the Thames. You are basically on the otherside of Canary Wharf. We discovered that you can easily access the river by going out the back door.
Sidney was really helpful and came over to give us the remote for the garage, as we wanted to park our car.
We found the place to be peaceful with excellent connections to the central attractions.
We recommend this place for a short getaway in London!
The bed was comfy and the room was clean and as shown in the pictures. The transport links were excellent. Access was made easy by the use of key boxes, so we weren't under pressure to arrive at a certain time. Good stay!
everything ok only fridge in the kitchen not working
We spent three nights here. Although it was mostly as advertised (everything kind of worked, if you have the patience), I cannot recommend this place for a London stay.
First, you are not "on the river." You face a street with housing on the other side, and access to the river is kind of a joke, so don't be swayed by that part of the ad.
The flat is very, very sad and tired. The owner needs to replace the bedding and this cheap and gross couch. There is an even grosser cheap and gross wool blanket on this couch that servces as a cover, but I'd hesitate to let my dog sleep on it.
There is not a stick of artwork on the walls, giving it a "single lightbulb in the centre of the room" look. The oven was nearly impossible to figure out, and one of the radiators would not shut off even when you turned it off. We eventually got both appliances to work, but repeated phone calls to Sidney, our contact, for help were ignored. We never did hear back from her.
Oh -- and there's no hot water in the place after 10 a.m. My takeaway from our stay is the owner's a complete cheapstake....
Also, the area is purely residential, remote and boring. The nearest pub is winner (the Mayflower) but it's a considerable hike, and groceries are a full 20 minutes on foot -- as is the nearest Tube station.
If we paid half price, I'd be okay with this accommodation, but we paid full. The biggest joke was the tip jar.
I wouldn't want to call the property total crap -- more like the bare minimum -- but at this price, give it a pass.
Sidney, can you explain your lack of communication? Don't tell me I had the wrong number because I confirmed it with you by email before we left.
Very little and very old. But we are only were there for sleeping. Near bij train. We were with 3. It was to small. In the africaroom: you can not sit comfertable. We eat in the city.
Very very noisy because there where trains from 5 o clock in the morning.
It was clean. For backpackers o.k. but not for a family like us, with a child.
London is great!
positive points: price, great location / London center, room and kitchen
negative points: very noisy road (also during the night), bathroom (not possible to take a shower)
Basically fine for money, good location, but a few issues- far too hot- radiator was on full and we were unable to alter the temperature which led to us having to keep the window open overnight which was obviously noisy. The wifi code was incorrect and the shower was like a small dribble of water. Neighbors were quite noisy and not everyone had respect for the fact that other people use the bathroom. Basic and cheap but nothing special and not having wifi was a real nuisance. Heating was a real problem too- turn it down!
What Sidney doesn't say is that you have to share one toilet with other five rooms with at least two people in each one. ONE REGULAR TOILET FOR 12 PEOPLE!!!
Everything was ok for me 3 night stay at here place. I had a great time in this place in London
